"If I have to describe myself in 3 words, they would be: resilient, bold, and unique."
Despite the adversity set against me, I have risen like a phoenix, persistent and relentless, ready to set the world on fire. I bring a fresh perspective on disabilities and challenge the way people view us.
My mission is to showcase that people with disabilities can be innovative, creative, and prominent people in the entertainment world. My long-term goals include representing the disabled community through campaigns and roles that support furthering my mission, such as brands like Victoria's Secret, SunGrubbies, and VWear.
Let's create an Inclusive Entertainment Industry together.
My name is Morgan, and I go by Morgan Lee. I was born in Austin at Brackenridge Hospital, weighing in at 6lb 10oz. I grew up all over Texas, before moving to Tampa, Florida, where I graduated HS with a 3.98 GPA.
I am the oldest of four girls, and I am married to my handsome husband and we have 2 beautiful healthy kids, and one in Heaven. We live in the Hill Country, Northwest of Austin, where we enjoy hiking, swimming, camping and more. We have two dogs, Hera and Athena, and one cat, Gaia.
My hobbies include reading, painting, astronomy, and photography. I have been modeling for 5 years and acting for 3 years.
I also have certifications in Word, PowerPoint, Stop the Bleed, TABC, Food Safe Certification, Community Emergency Readiness Team, and have professional training in modeling, culinary, cosmetology, business, and more.
"My goal is simple: to raise awareness for disabilities — both seen and unseen."
I have disabilities affecting both my mental and physical health, and strive to be proactive about treatment and achieving a better life.
I have Spina Bifida Lipomyelomeningocele, at the thoracic spine. I had my first surgery at 7 weeks old after a MRI picked up my spinal cord tumor wrapped around the spinal column, and the doctor suggested SB but never diagnosed me. I was not expected to walk or progress normally after the surgery but I did. I grew up with a few restrictions but very normal. At 16 years, my spinal cord tethered to my spinal column again, leaving me with restricted movement and increased pain, falls and accidents. The doctors operated again and removed more bone (laminectomy) to access the tumors, and while they reported little damage to the spinal cord, I was paralyzed from the waist down when I woke from surgery. I rehabilitated at a facility for a few months before I was released to go home. I regained the ability to walk completely and spent the rest of my adolescence with little complications.
I graduated HS and ended up homeless for a short period before I relocated back to Texas in 2015 and started working. Shortly after I lost my oldest child to Anencephaly and held a ceremony to honor her life. About a year later I welcomed my second daughter Trinity, and then the following year I welcomed my first son Travis. When my son was about 18 months, I had to have my third surgery for tethering of the spinal cord and to debulk the tumors. This one was the most intense yet, as they nearly lost me on the table. They completed about 75% of the detethering when complications arose and they had to stop.
To this day I am still tethered and we aren't expecting surgery until it's dire and the reward is greater than the risk.
